Gojira: From Mars to Sirius: When you pick up this album (notice I didn't say 'if'), go directly to track #6: "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe". If there is a more aptly named track in the history of metal, I'm not aware of it (unless Poison put out a song called "Shit Sandwich" that I've somehow missed). Technical, without being overtly so, and melodic without losing the heaviness, this album showcases the fine talents of these fine French fellows. The album is a concept album in name only; it feels more like a thematic album to me. "This album follows a character who sees the world end and sets out on a journey to find the Flying Whales so they can teach the character to fly.^^ Said character flies to Sirius C, where the 'Master Race' teaches him to restore life to the planet^^ (possibly Earth)." (from Wikipedia) Whatever. The album kicks some serious arse. Highly recommended!
