I’ll be presenting “A Brief History of UNIX” at MUG on December 13th (That’s the second Tuesday of the month, for those of you wishing to make MUG meetings a regular part of their monthly diet). There’s an awful lot of history surrounding the UNIX operating system, and my hope is to distill it to the point where it fits into a nice, neat, entertaining 40 minute period where everyone can smile and feel great about how awesome UNIX and Linux are. There may even be a little show and tell for the presentation.
So, come on out and learn something about our shared UNIX heritage. There will also be talks on some of the more interesting commands for determining how your Linux OS perceives the world and the hardware it’s running on. Definitely come and check it out!
