It was sunny and warm out yesterday, so I decided it would be a great idea to go out and rollerskate/rollerblade around OU's campus. We had a lot of fun, but also ran into some problems that only Michigan can offer. Earlier that week we had the most hellacious ice storm imaginiable. In the Metro Detroit Area, they use salt to combat the effects of winter weather to make it safer for everyone involved. Unfortunately road salt is about the size of a rather large pebble. Lots of "pebbles" on the road make it very difficult for small wheels to move. JoDee and I spent a lot of effort trying to avoid patches of salt around the caompus. Fortunately there was only a few patches where it was really bad, but to two folks trying to keep their balance on wheeled objects that decide to stop on their own whim, every patch seemed like a challenge.

we went to Dave and Busters yesterday as well. We played a lot of Derby Owners Club which is a very cool horse-racing game. You breed your horse and train him/her to become a champion horse racer. The game also gives you cards to save the status of your horse so you can grow and mature your horse. For whatever reason, my horse "Whatever Works" (which I was planning on getting rid of because he was initially doing poorly) managed to win a Grade 1 race, besting JoDee's "Stella's Thunder" for the title. She was ticked, but we had a great time. :)
