Day After Tomorrow, Today

JoDee pretty much summarized our thoughts on the latest Hollywood disaster (film) to hit the silver screen: The Day After Tomorrow. I think the only people who really had fun with this movie were the special effects propeller-heads at the studio, who got to make some pretty incredible weather scenes. Unfortunately the plot (like most disaster movies) was razor thin, with the end of the world happening in mere days, and the protagonists managing to avert all kinds of disasters, and defy all sorts of physics which seemed to nail lesser characters quite handily. (Like having helicopter fuel freeze almost instantanerously, but not having natural gas do likewise). Like i said, though, the effects were pretty cool, but just once I'd like for Hollywood to mind the science for a change, and come up with a plot that is plausible. Hey, that might be entertaining too.
