Good tips for Mac users

Here’s some good tips fo those Macintosh users out there who want to prevent Mac Disasters. Good tips!

Clyde departs the tank

From our collective of glowlight tetras (Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde) it appears that Clyde has passed on. (Actually, the collective was named Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde… not sure which was which, so Clyde is the first name retired. I’m such a bad fish-parent). For a while I thought that Clyde was possibly a [...]

Skype

Y’know, I can’t get ANYONE to sign up for Skype. Only Alan has signed up, and he’s never on Skype. How am I supposed to test Skype without anyone to talk to? (*whine*)

Just had to mention this

I’d be remiss if I neglected to mention that it’s Sarabeth’s Birthday Today. So, allow me to rectify this by saying “Happy Birthday, Sarabeth!”

For those who aren’t familiar with this place, imagine a room with 30-40 PC machines all networked and ready to run a plethora of multiplayer games. For a small fee, these machines will open up and allow you to play these games [...]

I’m glad copyright only encourages the free trade of information (cough)

Hope you enjoy your history documentaries around WWII, because that’s probably the only footage documentary producers will be able to afford. The permission to use the footage which made the movie Eyes on the Prize is now anywhere from $250,000 $500,000 to license. The permission to use the footage has long since expired, and the [...]

Eyeballs and gullets

Hope you didn’t expect to get much use from that TiVo unit, because
ABC doesn’t much care for you hopping around to other stations to record their programs. They’ve been screwing with the schedules to revent TiVo owners from only recording what they want. Think broadcast TV will stand for people picking and choosing programming? Nope. [...]
