Comment spam – That didn't take long

Well, my first vestages of comment spam arrived. Fortunately I have a few policies in place to ensure they don’t make it through (human editors trump spam every time.) I’m always amazed at what lengths spammers will take to try to get people to read their messages. If you want an experiment in how quickly your email address will be harvested, create a mail account (don’t use your default mail account for this), and post the address on a page somewhere on the net. In days, maybe even in hours, you’ll receive spam. I’ve received several pieces of spam for my tasklist challenge (which has an account listed on that page). I’ve used that address nowhere else on the net, yet I get spam for it. Amazing.
