Reminds me of the, now very tired, thing they keep saying about the Mars Rovers, about how they are waaaayy over their 90 day warranty period.
They could say the equivalent, “The Mars rovers are behind schedule for closing out the program.”.
Oh yeah. I’m an avid space advocate, and will be sad when they go the way of all flesh. Brahms Requiem and everything. “From [Earth] dust they are born, and to [Mars with meteoric] dust they shall return.” Is it better to suffer software death, like MGS – or starve to death alone and in the cold like Huygens? Better to take a swan dive into Jupiter, like Galileo. You know – become part of something bigger.
Sometimes i’m jealous of former President Regan, who said things like, “That I do not recall.”, and “I don’t remember any meettings…”. [Iran Contra hearings.] It was believable, anyway.
Ignorance is bliss, but it’s too late for me. I already understand Dilbert.
