Just got off the phone with a radio-research survey company. They asked me what my favorite radio station was. I told them "I listen to podcasts exclusively". She was thrown for a loop. I spelled out "podcasts" for her. She asked why. "Because radio has deserted me. I listen to heavier music like thrash metal, but they don't play it". I also told her I'm familiar with Arbitron and the other radio research companies, but they never ever send me mail. Too bad. I think the radio stations need to get the message that 20 stations playing the hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and today isn't going to cut it anymore. There's choices out there, and I'm exercising mine.
