Huge Monitor: Alienware Curved Monitor Looks Like Its From Another Planet
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I just squealed like a little girl.
More than you cared to know
My 19″ widescreen LG flatpanel is 1440×900, so this is essentially twice the width, same vertical resolution. Still, it looks pretty impressive and will probably still have lower power consumption than my old 20″ CRT.
Mmm… World of Warcraft in curved screen glory…
To quote my wife, however: “Oh, HELL no.”
Neato…Think of what metroid on that thing would be like. *sigh*
Sadly, it would still be Metroid.
It’s only 900 pixels high. Sorry, i’ve gotten used to 1600×1200. It’s the small dimension that matters to me. I won’t be upgrading.
I might consider getting a second video card, and running twin 1600×1200 monitors. One of the things i really liked about my old Mac was it’s twin monitors. Since Word could fit a document (at least in width) in 640×480, twin screens allowed side by side comparison of versions of a document. OpenOffice can do this on a single 1600×1200 screen… it’s a feature.
Maybe i’ll get a second monitor for my next system, which will have more than one processor. Then, i could get a second keyboard… and two printers, and two mice, such duplicity.
