Ubuntu Michigan Release Parties

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

It’s time to celebrate another release of Ubuntu! After 6 months of hard work, Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) releases on Thursday, and the Ubuntu Michigan Loco is ready to celebrate!

The folks on the West Michigan side will be celebrating on Wednesday, October 12th at Casey’s Garage, located at 112 Baldwin St, Jenison, MI. from 8PM – 11PM. More information, and how to RSVP is available from the event page.

The Metro-Detroit Ubuntu Loco will be celebrating on Thursday, October 13th from 7PM – 10PM at the Liberty Street Brewing Company, located at 149 W. Liberty Street, Plymouth, MI. More information and how to RSVP is also available from the event page.

If you have a few spare CD-Rs and want to make some CDs, please feel free. You might want to ask on the mailing list if there are any particular flavors that people are looking to pick up.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

FWIW, seems like there’s a bug over there between the events page and the user management system. I registered, turned up as “openiduser626″, and can’t seem to find a way to change that to something sensible.

I might not make it. But, since Liberty Street is awesome and basically ambitious walking distance away from me (not really), I should make an effort to crawl out of my lair.

Hmm, that’s strange. I’ll file a bug on your behalf with the locoteams directory to see if they can get it sorted.

      Hoping to see you there!

@lmorchard: I think it’s because you don’t have a launchpad page associated with the open ID. Do you have a launchpad account?

Hmm, yeah, I didn’t have a launchpad account at the time I signed up. I apparently do now, though:

That doesn’t seem to have helped after the fact though
