Checking in for February for my "Designing a Well-Lived Life" blogging. This is about making small changes during the year to make larger changes.
-
Release Phosphors in the Dark: I'm still working on this, but it's taking longer and my energy is being sapped by my chemo treatments. But I'm pressing onward nonetheless.
-
Learn more programming for the Atari machines to get more comfortable creating for them: Didn't get to much of this over the past month. At this rate I'm going to have to relearn the 2600 again. That's not a huge problem, though, as I'm actually relishing diving back into this. The difficulty is just giving myself the time for deep focus on this.
-
Finish up or hand-off the Pepper&Carrot RPG: I need to translate the files I have into Markdown and turn them into playtest documents. I just haven't done that yet.
-
Update the Pepper&Carrot Wiki: I'm planning on reading the books again, starting from the beginning, and take notes. This will also help with the RPG above.
-
Write / Blog more about what's going on: Didn't blog as much this month. Hoping to do more this month.
-
Hang up my hangups - allow myself to be more creative and playful: Been noodling just sitting down and playing a solo RPG but that requires concentration. Going to play with this some more over the next month.
-
Work on getting more healthy and as cancer-free as possible: Need to do more exercise. I'm finding myself getting more and more winded doing things like "go up several flights of stairs" or "walk from the parking structure to the Cancer Care Associates office". Need to give this attention.
-
Meditate: Haven't done anything with this at the moment.
-
Declutter our spaces so they represent who we are, not who we were: We're making progress here. I've been opening boxes and finding things that I forgot we still had (and finding things that need to go elsewhere). I made some major progress after opening some CD binders to see what was in there. Going to be making some donations soon.
-
Relax my frustrations and be more accepting of things as they are: I've been practicing with this off-and-on. I can't say that I did anything major here but I have noticed myself dropping my story and recognizing what is most important in this moment.
-
Maintain tootstream or hand it off to someone who can: I need to hand this off, pure and simple.
-
Continue removing debt: Making more progress here. This past month was an exercise in not spending as much on things. I've had some success with this, but I need to be better about it in the coming months.
-
Simplify and focus on the essential: Some progress here, but always room for improvement.
I'm pulling off the tootstream maintenance from my monthly goals. I may make more releases for it in the coming months but for now it's not a priority. I'll need to find someone else to maintain it. Also need to figure out some clear next-steps for these intentions if I'm going to keep them around. More to come in the coming weeks.
