Designing a Well Lived Life: Checking In (2023 May)

Checking in for May for my "Designing a Well-Lived Life" blogging. This is about making small changes during the year to make larger changes.

(I'm slightly early this time around but since I'll be doing chemo on Wednesday and tomorrow is a holiday I think this is as good a time as any to recap.

  • Release a storyworld into the wild: This is still in the design phase. I'm still thinking about what all is needed for this storyworld. More to come.

  • Learn more programming for the Atari machines to get more comfortable creating for them: This fell by the wayside.

  • Finish up or hand-off the Pepper&Carrot RPG: No progress as of late.

  • Update the Pepper&Carrot Wiki: Slow going on this. Need to pick up the pace.

  • Write / Blog more about what's going on: I've been blogging my little tuckus off this past month. Including this post I've created 26 articles. I'd say this is going well.

  • Work on getting more healthy and as cancer-free as possible: Still working on this.

  • Meditate: Haven't done anything with this. Not even sure if this is a priority right now. Will need to think about this.

  • Declutter, simplify, and focus on the essential: Been making progress on this, slowly but surely.

  • Relax my frustrations and be more accepting of things as they are: This past week has proven that I need to work on this more. I need to relax into whatever is going on and just let it be unless I can actively change it.

  • Continue removing debt: This past month I went completely overboard by picking up a lot of things that I didn't really need. I think part of it is my collecting mentality, but there's also a sense of me trying to terraform things to make them more to my liking. I need to identify more with minimalism. I have enough already. Part of this is me coming to terms with my retirement and figuring out routines and the like. Going to use June as a month of frugality.

  • Hang up my hangups - allow myself to be more creative and playful: Did some with with this, but I'm still struggling with prioritizing my own creative work. Need to give this more space.
