Checking in for 2024-01-20:

Today I woke up tired. I was half-ready to go back to bed but Pixel was on the bed in a way that I couldn't get back into bed. Dangit. So I showered and got ready. That wasn't too bad overall because I had a 10am meeting with a few friends. That energized me so I decided to go do a few errands. I picked up one of my prescriptions and visited my parents to work on their computer a bit. It was nice to get out of the house for a bit and not have to worry so much about having an accident. Granted, I kept it in the back of my mind that I could abort at any time, but luckily I didn't have to exercise that backup plan.

We woke up to Pixel scratching on the floor in our bedroom. That usually means that she's dumped some poop in there. Sure enough, she had some poop attached to her that she dragged from the bathroom into the kitchen and then the living room. We didn't find the one in the bedroom until later. There's nothing quite like cleaning up after a cat that is determined to try to remove a piece of poop from her pantaloons. Luckily it cleans up.

I managed to write a decent introduction for another book I'm working on. Hoping to get some momentum under this so I can push it forward to completion. I have some ideas on where this book will take me but for now I just want to get the ideas out and let the book tell me what it wants to be.
