This morning I learned that I was one of the members of Geeknet that was being let go in this series of layoffs. While the words stung just a hair, I can honestly say that I'm ready to move on. Geeknet was an amazing company to work for, and I'm grateful for the opportunities that I had every single morning. The people I worked with are top notch, and the team we had was amazing. They have taught me so much, and I am in awe of their knowledge and expertise. I felt like I was living in a dream to be working with folks, and today I awaken to a world where my daily responsibilities no longer include Geeknet. I regard every one that I worked with as a friend, and hope they also feel the same way. And no matter what crazy direction life takes me, I shall always remember and cherish the times I spent at Geeknet.

So, on a more personal, and self-serving level, I'm searching for my next opportunity. If you know of someone looking for a Python / Perl developer who has spent the last few years working as a systems administrator, please let me know.

The dreamer has awakened.
