JoDee, Sarah, and I went to see the latest example of mass marketting gone overboard in Tomb Raider. It wasn't a bad film, and honestly I was overjoyed to see Chris Barrie (Rimmer from Red Dwarf) as the butler. I like his acting. Overall, it was the best video game related movie I have ever seen (which isn't saying much, with the previous champion being Mortal Kombat). Tomb Raider combined "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" along with "The Matrix" and "The Mummy", but didn't combine the excitement or the emotion in any of these movies. The scenery was lush, and the action quite forthright, but it seemed like everyone was too "cool" in the movie. There were also some rather inexplicable sequences. All in all, I liked it, but don't be looking for me at the sequel. :)
Speaking of Red Dwarf... looks like in 2002 there will be a Red Dwarf Movie. Woo HOO! :)
