DSL Hell

Well, it appears where we're living isn't blessed with great Internet options. I should have known when I tapped my phone number into Speakeasy and didn't practically have a sales representative hop through my modem to sell me service. I ordered DSL through SBC, but they mysteriously had an "error" that prevented them from putting DSL on my line. Finally got someone to say that there wasn't any way in hell I was getting DSL right now because the lines here aren't copper. It would have been nice if they would have told me that straight up front. Of course I probabl could have guessed since I can't get anything more than a 28.8kbps connection out here. Hopefully with the bulding they're doing out here they'll upgrade some of the phone equipment, but I doubt it highly.
