Warning: serious geek talk ahead.
If this message posts, you'll be privy to an interesting problem I had with a CGI script, file permissions, and a strange bug that just showed up in 2006 in my news posting scripts. It's also around the same time that the 2006.html file was created with 644 permissions on my server. Unfortunately it seems that I forgot to put a die clause when the archival files can't be opened. Result: hanging web application, no errors, and a rather confused developer.
