Apparently Hot Topic purchased Thinkgeek. I have mixed feeling on this. Strange also to see Geeknet mentioned as an afterthought, but then again Geeknet (aka: VA Research, VA Software, Sourceforge et. al) was just the umbrella for which a loose confederation of cool sites once thrived.

I used to work for Geeknet when it transitioned from the Sourceforge branding. It's bittersweet to see another one of the "cool kids" sucked up like so many bits into the maw of another soulless corporation.

End of an era.
