(This was published in the devlog for The Instrument on itch.io. You can follow the progress of the project there and pick up a playtest copy of the game and a final copy when it is released.)
I've updated the text for The Instrument. It also highlights one of the reasons why playtesting is so important to a game's development. I've talked about the results of one of the playtests of the game here on my blog but the TL;DR is that the game was way too long. I've streamlined it so it shouldn't feel like a high school creative writing exercise. I may still play with the length of the game but for now I'm hoping this will make the game more fun and enjoyable. I've yet to do a playtest of it myself so if you have feedback I'd love to hear it.
I also reorganized the project so it's no longer in one large Markdown file. That means I removed the Markdown file from the downloads of the page, but you can still gain access to the project through the Framagit GitLab repository at https://framagit.org/craigmaloney/the_instrument
Finally I'd like to thank everyone who has take the time to download and play this game. I hope that you'll agree that the changes help tighten the game and make it more enjoyable to play. As always, please let me know if you have comments about the game and feel free to share your instruments with me.
