Checking in for 2023-10-11:
- Went to the dentist yesterday. Pro-tip: getting your teeth cleaned / checked is not fantastic with low red blood cell counts. Red blood cells handle the clotting part of your blood so having lower-than-normal during a dental cleaning can really give that "Are you on blood thinners?" vibe to your normal dental cleaning. Fortunately the dental hygienist I go to is fantastic so there weren't any major issues.
- Worked on the Pepper&Carrot RPG this morning. Old-Sylvan got expanded upon today.
- Scheduled my vaccinations for Friday of this week. Hoping to boost the ol' system so I don't get sick. Might be a little worn out that day but I also have the weekend to recover.
- Ordered my Lonsurf and Zarxio refills. Found something kinda humorous (and by humorous I mean kind of a pain in the ass.) Alliance RX stores a few things in your local browser storage that can sometimes get out-of-sync. My latest was trying to get it to refill the Zarxio prescription. For whatever reason it had the Zarxio selected but didn't allow me to refill it. I had to use Firefox's Private Browsing mode to make it work. Private Browsing doesn't access the local storage, so it leads me to believe that it can get out of sync. Something to keep in mind if you run into instances where you have a refill due but can't seem to convince the site to allow you to refill it.
- I need to edit the video for yesterday's MUG meeting. Marcel Gagne did a fantastic talk about the state of AI. Lots of good tools covered. This stuff isn't going away anytime soon, folks. Hopefully we can utilize it for better uses.
- I have to give a huge shout-out to the Logitech Squeezebox community, especially for having answers to things that have been bugging me for a while. I've had issues with podcasts where they will just cut out after 5-10 minutes. Apparently there's a caching setting that one can set that will download the "streaming" file and cache it locally. This was a bit maddening and was something that I was trying to figure out. Quick search and I have my answer. I still am enamored with this ecosystem.
More as I know it.
