Checking in for 2024-01-08:

Last week my intention was to exercise at least once a day each day. I didn't do so well with this intention. Part of this was my extremely cut-up schedule and part of this was a bout of ascites that was rather uncomfortable. There was also a transfusion on Wednesday. So I'm going to cut myself some slack and be OK with days when I can't manage to exercise. I'm still going to make an effort to exercise because what I've chosen for exercise is fun for me. I've been playing drums and it has really helped out a lot with clearing up a lot of the fluid. I've also been finding some songs to play along with that I haven't played with in quite some time. Hoping to keep this up this week. Even if it's just for 5 minutes then it'll be enough. My bigger problem is making sure I don't overdo it (as is my wont).

I met with Dr. Jaiyesimi today. My blood is looking better. I'm seeing a few worrying things in my numbers but Dr. Jaiyesimi seemed more pleased that the ascites was down since last week. We'll see how the month progresses.

I need to remember that I'm not a doctor. While I can look up stuff on the internet I don't have all of the details. I can make anything into a catastrophe without half-trying but it takes more courage to just relax and just trust that my care team knows what they're doing.

On Wednesday I have a shipment of Regorafenib (nee: Stivarga, Regonix) showing up. It's a lower dose than the full dose to see how I can take it. The side-effects are worrisome but again, I need to trust.

More as I know it.
