Bob Edwards signed off today from his long-standing position on NPR’s “Morning Edition” radio show. He has been the voice of Morning Edition for 24 and a half years. Apart from the inimitable J.P. McCarthy (WJR), Bob Edwards epitomized the morning talk show host: cool, classy, and unshakable. He asked the questions that got to the heart of the issues in his interviews, and made the drive every morning that much more berable. He had the voice that you just expected to be there. When he would vacation, there was something different about the program that you couldn’t quite put your finger on, but you know wasn’t right. Thank you Bob for our mornings together. You’ll be missed.
