Apple iPod + Encryption = Pissed off Linux users

Slashdot | Apple Cuts Off Linux iPod Users

Apparently the new iPods have an encryption key that is read by the device. If the encryption key isn't there, or is incorrect, the device will show no songs as playable. What is really pissing me off about this is there is no iTunes client available for Linux. No iTunes = no iPod for me in the future. Oh well. I've been pleased with the Sandisk Sansa players, and they just jumped up 10 notches in my list of MP3 players to purchase when my iPod shuffle finally bricks itself.

Fuck you too, Apple.
