Checking in for 2023-12-16:

Today I participated in the 2023 iteration of PyOhio. PyOhio is a conference that is special to me because I've been there since the beginning and because I've forged some lasting friendships there. They're planning on having their 2024 event in person. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it, but I'll do my best to try.

The Lonsurf is tiring me out. I've been taking more naps each evening. My energy has bee fluctuating as of late. Yesterday I had an eye doctor's appointment that wore me out. It wasn't so much the eye doctor or the dilated eyes as much as it was the mental fortitude that I needed to bring to it in order to just show up. There was a lot of second-guessing whether I needed to use the restroom or not. I'm hoping to get this more under control in the coming year. If this is going to continue to be a part of my daily experience I should at least be able to be at peace with it.

I want to go back in time and throttle the person at Atari that saved a few pennies on each unit by not putting in an RF Modulator in the Atari STF. I can understand the why of it but it's frustrating because the Atari ST doesn't output anything meaningful for folks that don't happen to have an Atari ST Monitor handy. My latest foray into trying to figure out a solution involved SCART, the standard that never made it over into the states, thinking that it might route around this issue. Unfortunately no signal made it across the cable. At some point I might just need to find an actual Atari Monitor that isn't ridiculous to ship.

More as I know it.
