Checking in for 2023-08-10:

  • This post is gong to be a bit of an info dump since I haven't posted in a while. Buckle up.
  • Yesterday I had my in-person chemo with 30 minutes of Bevacizumab (nee: Avastin, Mvasi, Zirabev) (Hi, Kim!). I mentioned that I was carrying around some 8A drumsticks in remembrance of Bill Rieflin, whom I previously mentioned was on tour with King Crimson while dealing with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. It's just a little reminder for me of the folks that have traveled before and how they kept going in the face of pain and adversity.
  • My Carcinoembryonic antigen numbers (remember: lower is better) was 204.7 on Tuesday. Back in April it was 72.7. That threw me for a bit of a despair loop until I realized that I haven't been on as much chemo since April. That got ramped down in the hopes of alleviating the diarrhea I was experiencing. Also this is just two weeks after my initial doses of Lonsurf. So I'm not going to freak out just yet.
  • I'm finding my strength coming back and my tiredness fading. It's definitely affected my ability to want to be creative. I'm looking at my lists and seeing a lot of things that are essentially stalled because I haven't had the energy (or rather, my energy hasn't been at the right time / right place for working on things). Hoping to reconfigure to get back some of the energy and better manage it.

That's it at the moment. More as I know it.
