Checking in for 2023-12-22:

I have a new drug for combating severe nausea should I need it. It's Olanzapine (nee: Zyprexa), which can also be used to combat bipolar disorders. The intersection between nausea for cancer patients and drugs for mental wellness is pretty interesting to me. I think part of it is breaking the mental feedback loops that we get ourselves into that get us so worked up. We'll see if I need it, as the Lorazepam (nee: Ativan) felt like the high-water mark of nausea to sleep ratio (where I felt the least nauseous but also required the most sleep afterward.

I did my weekly review today. I didn't accomplish much else. Part of that was getting tired and part of that is because I've lost momentum this week with being sick on Wednesday. I need to just let things be and pick myself up again. I'm trying to control too much and feeling out of control as a result.

Had the CAT scan yesterday. It went a little late but was a pleasant experience overall. The nurse was overjoyed that I had a port that they could use to put in the iodine contrast so they used that rather than try to find a vein in my arm. Honestly I think medical folks prefer the port over trying to find a vein because it's a known quantity. They're not having to try to tap a vein and hope for the best.

I'm going to play around with the Adventure Crafter a bit to uncork some inspiration around playing solo RPGs. We'll see how that works.
